Ampop My Delusions

Ampop is an Icelandic melodic-pop/rock band from Reykjavk, Iceland. The name of the band is actually the name of the first song they ever wrote, and is made from the words ambient and pop, which they thought was the definition of the music they were making at that time.The band was originally a duo, but before making their third album they added a drummer to the band. The first examples of the bands new direction were demo versions of two songs, My Delusions and Dont let me down which saw the light of day early in 2005. These tracks were instantly picked up on by Radio 1s; Zane Lowe who played My delusions on several occasions and invited the band to play live on his show from Austin, Texas, during this years SXSW music festival. AMPOP played alongside The Bravery, Hot Hot Heat, The Blood Arm and Queens of the Stone Age as the only unsigned band. Other important DJs such as Huw Stephens and Vic Galloway at Radio 1, or Vic McGlynn at BBC 6 Music have also put the stamp of approval to the new songs and have championed the band in their radio shows. After the successful appearance at SXSW the band went back to their studio to finish the album, stopping only to play in NY and the NXNE festival in Toronto

Darker My Love is a psychedelic rock band based in Los Angeles, California. The band consists of 5 members. Tim Presley, a former member of the band The Nerve Agents and also a visual artist responsible for much of the band's imagery, contributes vocals and guitar. Andy Granelli, formerly a member of both The Nerve Agents and The Distillers, plays drums. They are accompanied by Rob Barbato, who plays bass and shares lead vocal duties with Presley, and Jared "The Sandwich" Everett on rhythm guitar.

With the help of Bixler-Zavala, he was able to return to El Paso where he could begin to reclaim his life from addiction and join At the Drive-In as backup vocalist and bass guitarist. After receiving a record deal with Flipside Records and recording Acrobatic Tenement with the band, he became their full-time bassist before switching to guitar. After several years, a combination of excessive hype, relentless touring, artistic differences, and Rodríguez López & Bixler-Zavala's drug habits eventually caused the band to implode. In 2001, Rodríguez López and Bixler-Zavala left At the Drive-In and the band went on "indefinite hiatus". Hinojos, Ward, and Hajjar went on to form Sparta while the duo focused on other projects, most notably De Facto and The Mars Volta. Omar has collaborated with many people, including Lydia Lunch, Damo Suzuki, Hella drummer Zach Hill, and possibly most notably his close friend John Frusciante. "Confusingly released as Overground in Germany, as Turbulence in the UK and as Joy Unlimited in the United States, its a superb blend of psychedelia, funk and pop, boasting the powerhouse vocals of Joy Fleming, an array of guitar and organ textures and breaks and samples galore." A great combo from Mannheim, Germany, also known as JOY AND THE HITKIDS. They were mixing jazz-rock, krautrock, funk, soul, pop and psychedelic rock, with Hans W. Herkenne (drums, percussion), Albin Metz (trumpet, bass), Roland Heck (organ, piano, vibes, marimba, percussion, vocals), Dieter Kindl (bass, guitar, percussion), Gerd Köthe (saxophone, flute), Klaus Nagel (guitar, woodwind, percussion, flute) and Hans Lingenfelder (guitar). Led by extraordinary vocal skills of female singer Joy Fleming, the band released their debut 'Overground'in 1970 (released under the name 'Turbulence' in UK and 'Joy Unlimited' in the US). Their second album, 'Schmetterlinge' (which means 'Butterflies' in German) along with the debut is the most representative band's material, and certainly worth checking. He is the drummer and live band leader of the globe-trotting The Five Corners Quintet, the visionary behind the late Teddy Rok Seven, and the producer of such Finnish jazz co-luminaries as Jukka Eskola and Timo Lassy, to name but few of this all-encompassing talents endeavours.
